| It is the seemingly small insignificant conflicts we act against in our daily lives that often yield the most significant changes; as Marian Wright Eldeman discusses in The Measure of our Success in regards to making a difference:
Be confident that you can make a difference. Don't get overwhelmed. "Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand." Try to take each day and each task as they come, breaking them down into manageable pieces for action while struggling to see the whole. And don't think you have to "win" immediately or even at all, to make a difference.
The month of April is designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month, and is the main topic of our first newsletter. As you read through the newsletter, we hope you keep these two themes in mind. Preventing child abuse is, unfortunately, no small task. There have been and will continue to be many small actions leading to one very important goal, an end to all child abuse. Every positive action you make in a child's life leads to that goal. Please remember every action taken and every word spoken in front of a child shapes them into who they will become.
